Newbies are destroyed and torn to pieces…
You will be chewed up and spit out. There will be no mercy. Battle City is not user friendly.
This is a real-time action and strategy multiplayer game. You control a tank and your mission is to destroy enemy cities while defending your own.
Each city has a maximum of four players; 1 Mayor and 3 Commandos.
If you are the Mayor, your job is to build the city and hire a team of three Commandos.
If you are a Commando, your job is to join a city and orb the enemy!
Destroy or be destroyed. That’s what it’s all about…
How do you play Battle City?
You have two options:
- Build a city
- Join a city
You have two missions:
- Defend your city against annihilation (Don’t let them drop an Orb on your Command Center!)
- Orb enemy cities
To accomplish your objectives, you get some useful equipment:
Offensive items:
- Laser (Press shift!)
- Cougar Missile (Press shift)
- Flare Gun (Press ctrl)
- Time Bombs (Drop with “D” or Press “B”)
- Orb! (Drop with “D” or Press “O”)
Defensive items:
- Mines
- Walls
- Turrets
- Plasma Cannons
- Sleeping Sentries
Other items (can swing either way!):
- DFG
- Cloak
How do I control my tank?
Here are the basic controls:
- Arrows to move
- “U” to pick-up items
- “D” to drop items
- Shift to shoot
Once you get the hang of the basics, here are some useful shortcuts:
- “B” to drop bomb
- “O” to drop orb
- “TAB + Arrow keys” to adjust screen view
