Given the hype of the BattleCity League, I feel it is only right to start talking about the clans. In the Month of March, many new candidates found themselves battling in the trenches for a first appearance. We are coming into the final week of the league, before the fast paced 3 game series begin. Be sure to keep a keen eye on the this week, as every match will decide which spot each clan will inevitably fall into for the playoffs. The following write-up will display each of the clans leaders of the past month, as well as the “Big” Free Agent still out there. This will be followed by a detailed description of the rest of the players in a few days!
The returning champions, HDO, have snaked 5 of their clan members (including there newest member Ayana) onto this Months Top 20 Highlight. This clan hopes to win back to back championships this season. Putting 5 players on the Top20 in a month is a good way to state just that!
Maximizing his playing time, and improving on his already terrific orbing skills, Iggy has placed himself as #8 with 16,922 points. Iggy has certainly made his mark on the battlefield, as well as through his course of play in the league. He has placed himself on the Monthly Top20 list two out of the 3 times, as well as earned 15 points for the 18th spot in the 2006 Bomb Cup Standings.
Initially, it was viewed that GoW would be the clan to take on the challenge. However, it has become clear that every clan has been able to piece together a competitive team this season.
Jizohn and his adverse offensive tactics have given him a boost to the #1 spot this Month. Even matching his playing time, will still prove to be awfully hard to overcome the amount of points he gets. Furthermore, hes only 2 points behind Annihilator, and second by far in this years Bomb Cup Standings. Within the past month, he was also able to record his first “explosion.”
Although SnG has started the season of sluggish, they have put together a team that is worth worrying about. If they don’t make there mark of fame into the playoffs this year, they will be ready to wreck house next season. With a little consideration and preperation, these guys can put 4 men on the field that can match anyone else.
Wdouglas is one of the proud winners of the newbie spotlight award. This new player has struck fear into many soldiers. Although I have yet to catch him in the heat of the BCL, I believe he can prove to be well worth the chance. This past month, wdouglas has marked the 6th spot with 18,672 points. Not to bad for a first appearance at all. Don’t consider yourself out of the race for this years Bomb Cup Standings quite yet, a lot of time left.
WFC and JB are as big of a rivalry as HDO & GoW. These fights will always go down in history. These games are just too hard to predict. Both teams will fight till every last second possible to try to overcome the other. Last season JB was able to do this. Which team will subside to the other this season, has yet to be answered.
Bennyguapos has been seen playing quite a bit lately. This past month he has hit the 15th spot with 13,230 points. This has also landed him with 6 points for the race of the 2006 Bomb Cup Standings. Benny has been improving a lot on his offensive skills. Furthermore, hes become quite the mayor of Bahia. This well-rounded player has provided JB with the necessities to help lead a golden path to the playoffs.
DoubleB has a knack for slaying defenders by playing mind tricks. Get them frustrated, they will fall easier. Although his attacking skills are far better, he can still be a solid defender. He is plays a major role in WFC and will be the key to overcome JB. He barely hung onto the 20th spot with 12,046 points, giving himself an extra point on the 2006 Bomb Cup Standings.
This past month has been another milestone reached in the dominant goal of the 2006 Bomb Cup Standings. The clan wars are at its peak, and this is the time the Free Agents find homes.
Well this Month, Marchordie has stuck out as the Premier Free Agent Pick. This player dominates the field of defense and has recently become quite the mayor of Benguala. As his skills grow, watch which clan decides to wager a promising decision to pick this all-star up. He has slammed himself onto the 9th spot with 16,684 points. Although it was his first appearance, he has already gained 12 points for a #20 spot for this years race to #1.
