This May, darkluigi07 is our spotlight winner after making an impressive debut in the Battle City world of fun and games! Last month, darkluigi07 finished 16th on the Monthly Top 20, then followed that up with an incredible #2 finish for the Month of May! In fact, according to the May Player Rankings, darkluigi is already ranked #116 overall!

With great new players like darkluigi07 on the rise, the next Battle City League should be very interesting as a new group of individuals have the opportunity to make their mark in history. Darkluigi07 has already been listed on the roster of CoBC, a new clan with tons of potential! Lets not forget last BCL when everyone thought it was crazy to draft cseow in the first round because he was a relatively new player and league rookie. Cseow went on to win League MVP, Defensive Player of the Season, Rookie of the Season and a spot on the ALL BCL First Team as Mayor! He was also runner-up for the Best Example of Leadership and Sportsmanship award! That just goes to show, never count out the new guys! Perhaps darkluigi07 will be the next League MVP!

Surge: Hi Method, I am a journalist for the Battlecity newspaper, how you doing today?

MethodBCity: not too bad, not too bad

Surge: we are here to talk about the most recent BCL, the 4th season, are you excited?

MethodBCity: Yeah, as a part of HDO I won the first 3 seasons so I’m looking forward trying to win a fourth one. Have bragging rights over my fellow HDO brothers

Surge: What do you like most about the change in BCL this season?

MethodBCity: Not much really, if only the fact that there are no clearly overmatched teams this time around

Surge: So far do you think there is one team that will rule over most?

MethodBCity: I’d say the Cream Team has got the upper edge on paper but that doesn’t mean anything of course

Surge: Agreed. What are your thoughts on your team this BCL?

MethodBCity: I don’t like it.

Surge: Why is that?

MethodBCity: I mean, here I am, former playoff mvp, all BCL first team and the first thing OM talks about is practice. I mean, what’s with that? Practice. Practice doesn’t even count, it’s only practice. And then there’s OM himself…

Surge: Do you find it quite odd that OM drafted you to his team?

MethodBCity: Of course. We never did get along very well, with him being bipolar and everything. He must have been on one of his highs when he drafted me, being blinded by my superb talent and all…

MethodBCity: I’ll even give you the scoop:

MethodBCity: I’ve asked to be traded. I don’t want nothing to do with a known cheater like that. It’s just not good for my image you know…

Surge: Yes, your BC image is a very important thing in life. What team do you think you would fit in well?

MethodBCity: Any other team really, I feel all other managers have done a good job drafting except OM

Surge: Anything you would like to say to the other teams that may want to trade you?

MethodBCity: I’m worth it

MethodBCity: As simple as that, I’m worth it. Plus I will probably be more active this season

Battlecity League Awesome Start!

All teams involved with the BCL have now played at least one game! So far, the league has been very fun. We’ve seen some short games, and some really long intense games! We’ve even had one game go into overtime which was very fun since Mayors are not allowed to rebuild in OT.

The deadline for teams in the BCL to acquire new players is November 9th. If you aren’t on a team yet, join one and start taking part in all the action!

Also, I’d like to thank the community and those who have helped make the league possible. The community has done a great job not interfering with league games. We really appreciate that! Method, ObiWoz, Wujiamin, Merloch, thanks for being great refs! And nice articles Method, they make the league way more interesting and exciting!

Battlecity League Season Opener October 12th!

On October 12 at 9:30pm EST, the BCL will kick-off its first season with a match featuring HDO vs WFC!!! The full schedule can be found in the league menu on the right hand side of the website.

This season will be kept short and sweet! Consider it the ultimate Battlecity Round Robin Tournament! Each clan will play 4 games, one versus every other clan. The top 4 of the 5 clans will then qualify for the playoffs. If two teams are tied in last spot, the one which lost when they played each other will be eliminated. If they tied, then they will play a final deciding match to determine which qualifies for the playoffs.

The playoffs will then feature 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd in a best of 3 series. The winners of each series will then play for the CHAMPIONSHIP in a final best of 3 series!!!

Good luck everyone! We hope to have at least 2 refs for each game, so that we can also broadcast live commentary during the match for all those spectators interested in knowing how the match is going!
