Season in Review
The second BCL season in history has come to and end, and it was without a doubt extremely exciting, seeing HDO receive their first loss in the teams history, but still storming back to win their second championship. There were many hard-fought double-triple overtime battles that featured the games top players.
At the start of the season, there was some talk that GoW could take the throne from HDO. GoW did not disapoint, giving HDO their first loss, and taking them to overtime in 2 other matches. HDO held their ground, and defeated GoW in the finals after a controversial game 3 where GoW played with only 2 players, leaving the team to forever wonder what could have been.
JB and WFC continued their rivalry, going to overtime yet again. Unfortunately the teams didn't meet in the playoffs, as that would have made for a dandy series! JB went on to face GoW in the first round, and lost 2 games to one in what turned out to be a very exciting series in which all 3 matches went to OT. Unfortunately for JB, they were sent packing before getting a chance to face HDO in the finals for a second time.
SnG had a rough welcoming into the BCL, finishing with 4 losses, though they did pick up one point when they took WFC to OT. However, despite missing the playoffs, the team earned valuable league experience whcih I'm sure we will see pay off next season. Many of their players are still developing and will likely be in their prime next season making the team a definite force.
Great season overall, lots of fun! Thank you to all the clans that participated and all the referees who volunteered.
