This was a short match with LA getting "orbed" at 6:10, but really all dying as IGGY tocuhed the CC at 6:09 before getting a chance to drop the purple ball.
IGGY was selected as HDO MVP for getting 2 LA players stuck in a DFG, then almost orbing the city as Method blew up the wall factory. IGGY would have gotten the Orb, but his rush to the CC made friendly turret fire kill the last LA player.
Definitely a good start to the series for HDO. LA will be looking to even things up in Game 2. Hopefully home team advanatge will give them a competitive edge!
As another note, zhantrim completes another game without losing a single factory!

This was a great match full of continual action. For the most part, JB was constantly attacking the WFC base with 3 attackers. WFC did a good job holding out, even after Nightwish almost sealed the deal when he took out the zook and turret factories. WFC recovered and managed to rebuild!
Near the halfway mark, Surge and Hot-Dog went to attack together. Warlord took out Hot-Dog and was left with Surge. Meanwhile, Weebo grabbed a turret to go help out Warlord, but hit a DFG on his way out. Warlord, who saw the help coming, ran into the base assuming Weebo had it covered. Both players found themselves stuck on the DFG. As surge made a turret kill both, MuffinMan was finishing a suicide run on the WFC plasma factory and Nightwish also died.
Game over! No more bunnies left in the Jungle 😉
Game 2 is thursday! The Bunnies will be looking to avoid elimination by forcing a game 3 next tuesday!
Good game everyone!

As this match got underway, things were looking bad for LA who found themselves 2 players short. Despite the odds, sin38 and penguinizi decided to take on HDO 4 vs 2!
Before grace period finished, names showed up for LA! w00t!
Despite playing 4vs3, LA managed to survive nearly 14 minutes, which is more than double the time they lasted in game 1 with a full lineup =p
HDO was keeping on the pressue, and Merloch managed to take out all of the important factories several times each. sin38 did a good job rebuilding.
Penguinizi took a big rist near the 13 minute mark when he decided to attack despite his team being shorthanded. It was a brave risk that could have made him the hero and MVP had it worked. Unfortunately, it didn't and LA had their base completely destroyed.
Finally, with Merloch appraoching, sin38 decided to demolish all his remaining factories… including the turrets.. which let Merloch cruise on the CC and get the orb. Merloch would most likely have gotten the orb anyway at that point considering the CC was open and everything was gone except for the turrets, dfgs and zooks.
GG!
names got MVP for LA for a solid performance all game long. Both other players for LA battled strong as well against the odds, but they also both helped LA die =p

The game began inauspiciously for JB, with only three bunnies peering out of their rabbit-holes. Additionally, WFC had the ace in the hole, with one of their members signing on as ref. Fortunately for JB, a whole host of other refs signed on and the conspiracy came crumbling down.
Both teams boasted competent mayors, and each city was fully erected by the time the five minute building period had concluded. Despite this, neither team was quick off the blocks – it took nearly thirty seconds for the first move to be made. In the early going, JB put the pressure on hard with BallsOut, ~Warlord~ and MuffinMan making quick runs but doing little damage. I knew they were grasping at straws when I heard one of them exclaim they had taken out the walky factory. OMG.
Gradually, Hot Dog and finally Surge made their presence known at the fringe of JB's prairie. Hot Dog was executing surgical strikes on Jakarta's eastern front, while surge was penetrating from the south. HD nearly took out the cc's eastern wall several times, but each time was thwarted by JB's vigorous defense and a cleverly placed sleeper one space northward. Despite this, his forgotten dfgs kept trapping JB commandos long after he had died, much to my amusement. Surge was successful several times at destroying the JB zooka factory, but could make little progress inward. Only once did he have a golden opportunity, but three bunnies stormed him and blasted him out of their garden.
On the WFC side of the fence, Dunebug and his valiant wuji-lovers staved off multiple attacks in defense of their homeland. Few assailants were successful in blowing any significant buildings and the city held up extremely well. As an aside, both designs were excellent.
Overtime took hold and the mayors spent several minutes rebuilding, with Deceth rearranging some entryways and research locations to foil future assaults. Once the rebuilding period was over, the commandos burst forth to do damage. An immense amount of pressure was placed on the WFC base, and often they had to resort to four defenders to stay alive. Towards the end, mines and some research had been blown, but WFC managed to stave off enough attacks to reach a second rebuilding period.
The second overtime began in much the same manner; with Deceth having to do little rebuilding as NOT A SINGLE JB BUILDING HAD BEEN BLOWN during the first overtime. Hot Dog and Surge made several brief appearances, but could not penetrate the tenacious defenders and their wily turrets. WFC was not so lucky, losing the dfg factory and green turret research rather quickly. Soon, the problems compounded when the ss factory bit the dust and several large holes were formed to the northeast, northwest and southwest of the base. The death toll was sounded as the cries of "zooks, lasers!" resounded throughout the JB base. It was quickly over, with the WFC plasmas dying and ~Warlord~ moving in for the kill.
Had the WFC managed to survive for two more minutes, they would have been given the chance to rebuild and perhaps snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. It was not to be however. They fell wounded on the battlefield, bringing the series even at one-and-one.
Join us next time as the WFC tries to avenge their recent loss against their JB rivals. Who will emerge victorious to enter the finals against the impossibly difficult HDO? Who will be given the opportunity to come in second place? Only time will tell….
As a final note, both MVPs were the mayors for the match. Each distinguished himself on the field of battle. The designs were excellent and the play was elite. Especially noteworthy was Deceth, who did not allow a single building to be destroyed during either overtime period.

The Jungle Bunnies squared off against HDO tonight for the first game of the BCL finals. Initially it was looking like JB was going to end up playing short, but Foozgrind showed up to fill their forth position.
Both mayors, Deceth and Zhantrim, had their cites complete by the end of the five minute grace period. For the first few minutes of play, neither city suffered any critical damage from the other team. Then, with a single well placed bomb, one HDO attacker managed to take out JB's greens and sleepers while another took out bombs and zooks. Despite significant damage to his city, Deceth managed to rebulid with his entire team defending.
Unfortuanely for JB, when they moved to a four man defense, HDO switched to a four man offense and things really started to swing HDO's way. After blowing JB's sleepers, bombs, lazers, and plasmas multiple times, HDO finally managed to orb JB after 11:30 minutes of play (16:30 including the grace period) for the win.
The next game in this best of three series takes place tomorrow night at 9:30pm EST.

Tonight was the second match of the BCL finals. With the Jungle Bunnies down 1-0 against HDO, tonight's game was a must win to stay in the running for the championship. They even tried stealing HDO's favorite city, Skopje, but unfortunately for them it didn't work.
Just like the last time these teams met, Deceth (JB) and Zhantrim (HDO) started off the game as mayors. Once the 5 minute grace period was over though, Deceth handed over mayor to ~Warlord~ opting to attack instead. For the first few minutes of play, the game was looking pretty even, with neither team doing significant damage to the other team's city. In fact, neither team managed to blow a single factory for the entire duration of the game! (This is a BCL first.)
After about six minutes of play, HDO (with Method and Merloch attacking) started threatening Skopje from the south by blowing the perimeter buildings and shooting the turrets and walls protecting the cc. (Around this time, players from another city started attacking JB and were killed by the ref (me ) but not before they distracted the JB defenders for a second.) At 13:10 HDO managed to break through JB's defenses for the win, with Method getting the orb.
With tonight being HDO's second win of the finals (it was a best of three series), they are now the very first BCL champions!
