Blazed is the funniest newbie I have ever seen. Hot Dog was getting mad at him for placing turrets and stuff. We told him so many times not to. He was pretty confused. He kept taking everything and he didn’t even know what it was.

Hot dog kept telling Blazed, “Don’t set D”. But I think he didn’t know what where defense items. He was also asking Hot Dog if he could build too. Lol! He also picked up like three lasers before Hot Dog figured out he took them all. Hot Dog was like, “How many lasers do you have?” Blazed had no idea, so finally I told him to press “d” and he dropped all the lasers.

Blazed is funny cuz he is so confused but he tries. Keep up the good work Blazed! We love newbies! 😉

Borfshwitz Spotlight April 2005

Borf! Is there anyone better for Aprils newbie of the month? I think not. Last month he was unknown, now he is the games greatest nuisance! In fact, he has already made such a name for himself that most players wish he had never heard of Battle City!

No newbie has ever been so feared! No newbie has ever made one of BC’s top 5 lists in his first month (Top 5 Lamers…)

Borf is particularly feared because he is extremely persistent and never gives up. He does not rely on his teammates, in fact, he almost always plays alone. He is a brave warrior – he is willing to attack a full city all by himself. Well, him and his turrets.

In fact, Chris, one of the games top players, has even adopted some techniques he has learned from Borf in order to maintain himself at the head of the top 20 (Chris will say he learned turret rushing on his own, but lets not discredit the tactical contributions to the technique Borf has successfully employed).

A newbie who can frustrate a fully built city with 4 players all alone? Even destroy the city by killing all 4 members of the city? That is definitely a force to be feared!

Watch out for his little turret huts, he is not a player to be taken lightly! And please, stop trying to read or type his name. That is the source of his true power. While you attempt to either pronounce or incorrectly type his alias, he will already have you surrounded with doubly stacked mines and turrets.

Wujiamin Spotlight March 2005

Picture this – an epic return, a glorious new beginning, a wave of excitement… it’s here, it’s back, it’s Battle City. And guess what – it’s full of newbies! Welcome to the Newbie Spotlight – the place where newbies are honored for their incompetence, incoherence, and inability to shoot.

Wujiamin is the first newbie to be honored with the spotlight. Of all the newbies out there, nobody is more deserving of newbie recognition. She can barely drive, let alone shoot. But she’s from Hawaii, does the hula, and really knows how to hang-out!

She talks about nipples – but it’s not what you think. Wuji used to play another game called ARC. That’s right, we’ve converted here. Forget about UFO’s and space battles, Battle City is where the real action is. High speed tank wars, tactical assault strategies, decisive defense placement. Wuji was a Private for 2 weeks. Then a Corporal for three. But forget that – she’s now been promoted to Sergeant Major with 556 points! Watch yourself.

While she might not be the best recruit to defend your city just yet, she does know how to protect herself from the drooling of Yoyo and the rest of her growing fan club. Because for what she lacks in skill, she more than makes up for in text – that’s right, this newbie is already an active member of the community in the midst of a spam war with one of the games finest veterans, Stubbs.

What does the future hold for Wujiamin? The next Duke – Lord perhaps? Definitely Lieutenant by May, maybe even Captain!

Best of all, I’ve convinced her that in Canada it’s common to have a pet penguin. Mine is named Gonk.

A word of advice – don’t hug turrets even if you think they look like pandas. They’re not. I promise they never will be, please stop.
