Rise wasn't around for tonights Gauntlet, so I did one. It started a bit late and wasn't quite as big as some of the previous ones, but I think people had fun.
In the beginning, only Huambo was attacking, but by the time they got about halfway through, Dorra and Beng jumped into the action. They made steady progress until they reached the room with the CC. After 5-10 minutes of everyone unsuccessfully trying to shoot the turrets, nemises (from Dorra) made several attempts to rush the CC only to fall just short.
Meanwhile, Beng got orbed by Clientel from Huambo. It looked like they were out of the running, but they rebuilt quickly and Flash grabbed the orb. He succeeded where nemisis failed…rushing the cc with about 5 turrets shooting at him.
Flash got the orb…Beng got the 150 points. Great event with over 20 people online and 3 full cities participating!
Winners: Benguela
Flash (Orb)

Discuss this Gauntlet in the Forums
Another huge gauntlet was built this Sunday with wdouglas doing about 60% of the work. I let him go crazy on the south side, and he made it into a beast. He placed 600+ turrets which made up half the gauntlet. The gauntlet itself had 3 starting cities, each of which had to go through 140 plasma turrets before reaching the middle command center.
Lahij made the fastest progress to the middle, but they couldn't shoot all the turrets in the middle without the help of the other 2 cities.
Once the three teams finally met up, rather than working together, they decided to go to war and began killing eachother. They noticed this prevented them from making any real progress and made them have to constantly drive a long way, so they eventually stopped. They still killed each other from time to time, but they at least made the effort to make it look like an accident… 🙂
After the middle point, Benguala found the quickest route to the command center while annaba and Lahij announced a new declaration of war and bega killing eachother again! I tried to help Annaba out by telling them they were on the longer path, but Sanders said he would rather have fun, than watching someone else shoot turrets. Wise words we all should follow(seriously).
Eventually Sanders cleared the longer way while the other teams were clearing the command center. After 2 hours of the gauntlet, Clientel rushed the cc for the orb. Benguela recieved 500 points. Below is a list of the teams. If your name is missing, please post about it in the forums so we can add you!

I'm not sure of the names of everyone who took part since the event lasted well over 2 hours and many people came and went throughout it. If you remember anybody who participated who is not on the list, please post in the forums in the Crazy Gauntlet thread.

This gauntlet was huge. It covered 16 Command Centers and had many branches from it's 5 main paths. We had started building it around 5 and didn't get finished till 7:30. It was filled with plasmas, sleepers, and mines. There were a couple of dead-ends and tons of trails, but only one path led to the cc. Half way through Resistencia got lost and was at the total opposite end of where the goal was. Santiago had also went down the wrong path wich wasted some of their time. After about 2 hours, they made there way to the cc area, and I had to summon them because it would of took forever for them to finish if I didn't.
It was crazy, I remember telling Batcho(I think) to rush the CC, but he didn't. He died and Deceth from Santiago rushed the cc and got the orb while I was summoning people. I would like to thank iggy, vindkast, finn, and jizohn for their help building the gauntlet.

This controversial Gauntlet has spawned a whole series of separate debates on the forums! Should Gauntlets be worth 500 points? How can they be made more fair? Should the point prize vary depending on the number of participants? Is there a way to satisfy everyone, or will the same people complain regardless? What do you think!

Weebo was awesome and let me build a gauntlet tonight, so I built what I think was a pretty damn big gauntlet. However, the only 2 cities weren't cooperating in the beginning. Huambo orbed Bengula, then Benguela came back and orbed Huambo. After that they finally started working on the gauntlet, but Benguela was once again orbed by Pirate causing almost their entire team to leave except cseow who joined Huambo.
I gave Huambo plasmas so they could focus on the gauntlet seeing as how they were the only team interested. I'm pretty sure nobody else made one like this. It had 3 paths, one led to the cc, and the other 2 led to deadends. The CC path was guarded by 2 turrets at impossible angles, and the only way to shoot them was to use both dead ends to distract them. Scile however, managed to shoot them with only one person distracting. In the cc area every square had a plasma turret on it, so it took them a while to clear it all out. In the end Scile orbed it and Huambo was awarded 500 points.
