With the Fall 2006 Season nearing an end, it's time to start thinking about who you will vote for the different awards! This article will highlight this seasons rookies, which may prove to be a difficult decision this season!

So who are the Fall 2006 rookies you ask? Anox, Finn, Stig, rise against, Hardcore, Clientel, Knights, Friguy and wdouglas!

Given the four BO rookies (rise, Hardcore, Clientel & Knights) its safe to say that rise against definitely out-shone the others the most, with 5 games played and 3 MVPs. He did his best to try and lead BO in his rookie season with no prior league experience, and played solid as Mayor each game.

Anox, arguably had an easier transition into the league, surrounded by his skilled HDO teamates. However, just to get on the HDO line, Anox had to be on top of his game. He also has 5 games played this season, and although he may not have won as many MVPs as rise against, had he not been playing with the games best, he would likely have stood out even more.

Finn and Stig are JB's rookies. Both players have earned an MVP, and Stig has even picked up an orb. They still have a game or two left in the playoffs, and their performances their could greatly impact their chances of picking up this award!

wdouglas is another serious candidate for the Rookie of the Season Award. He helped back-bone SnG to second place in the standings and then came out blazing for SnG in the playoffs hoping to save the team from elimination. Expext him to also be a strong candidate for the Leadership and Sportsmanship Award.

Friguy had a rough introduction to the league, forced to play his first BCL games short-handed. He later moved to SnG, where he fell right into place and earned his first MVP. Although still a potential candidate, the fact that circumstances left him with only 1 game played in a real battle, will likely turn voters away.

Who will it be?! It's not an easy choice!

 

The High Definition Orbers easily defeated the Jungle Bunnies in Game 1 of the Championship Series. The match lasted just over 20 minutes; with the exception of the first 5 minutes, it was a constant onslaught on JB's base. Even while JB played 4 man defence, HDO was blowing up buildings left and right.

Game 2 of the series is:

JB will need to get their acts together and show their top line if they hope to be any sort of challenge. HDO will need to keep doing what its been doing for the last three seasons, thats is blow the scented carrots out of them.
 

The Battlecity League Finals will begin this Saturday, featuring the Jungle Bunnies vs the High Definition Orbers. Below is the full Championship Series Schedule:

Dec. 2 – 4pm EST – JB @ HDO
Dec. 7 – 7pm EST – HDO @ JB
Dec. 9 – 4pm EST – JB @ HDO (if necessary)

HDO has dominated the BCL since the first season in Fall of 2005. They have won 2 championships, and will now be going for their third!

JB has had their fair share of success as well. This is now the second time they reach the BCL Finals. Once again, it is HDO that stands in their way.

HDO definitely goes in as the favorites to win the BCL for the third straight time. HDO and JB have played eachother 5 times since Fall 2005, with HDO winning 4 of the 5, and one game ending in a tie.

Write down the BCL Finals on your calendar and come out and show your support for your favorite team! Will the HDO dynasty continue, or will JB crown themselves the new champions… ! 

After a roller-coaster up and down BCL season, the playoffs are finally here. It's a brand new season, with one grand prize awaiting the league's top team.

Nov. 21 – 7pm EST – BO @ HDO

Nov. 25 – 3pm EST – HDO @ BO
Nov. 25 – 4pm EST – SnG @ JB

HDO goes in as the favorites, looking to win their third consecutive championships. Merloch is leading the team, with 4 orbs and 3 MVP's in 4 games. Zhantrim has also been a key part of the teams success with 3 games played, helping backbone the line while newer HDO members like Anox and Batcho become comfortable in league battle. Watch out for Cable , who is definitely a candidate for Surprise Player of the Season or more if he shows up playing as dominant as in his last outing.

BO gets the lucky opportunity to face HDO in the first round. They are going to need a miracle to survive over 10 minutes and will not win even if HDO builds an orb city with no defence and a wide open CC. Rise Against has been a brave warrior trying to lead this clan to victory, picking up an MVP in every game he has played. If he sticks with the team, he could potentially build it into a serious threat for next season, but for now, they can only hope to learn from the experience of battling the defending league champions.

The JB vs SnG series should be great, there's no telling which way the series will go. With the exception of Deceth and Ender , the usual bunny faces have yet to be seen. Finn has been providing some stability, and with Surge and Stig on the lineup, I wouldn't count the bunnies out. Especially not with names like ~Warlord~ , MuffinMan and Nightwish lurking on the lineup. Don't forget the late season addition of Flash , which could also provide the team with a major boost.

SnG for their part came out of the gates way stronger than anybody expected this season. After missing the playoffs last season, they are now candidates for the championship. Thus far, a lot of that is thanks to solid play by the captain Commons and wdouglas , backed by some explosive offense coming from Orber(Major) . If they can get Scile into the lineup for the playoffs, they will definitely be the favorites to sweep JB. The addition of Friguy late in the season also gives them the extra depth that could have been considered their weak spot before-hand.

The BCL regular season has come to an end! HDO cruised to yet another Division Title as was expected when GoW unfortunately was unable to field a team for this season.

SnG, having missed the playoffs last season, stormed back strong, taking second place in the standings after thomping JB back into their bunny-holes in a game that lasted just barely over 4 minutes.

BO also qualified for the playoffs, after avoiding eviction from the league when they finally showed full lineup for their last 2 games. 

The playoff schedule will be announced shortly, with BO taking on HDO and JB battling SnG.

BO's chances of winning are not very good, but if they work hard and play some solid D, they could definitely at least force HDO to work for their wins and in so doing gain some more valuable league experience.

The SnG vs JB series should definitely be exciting. JB managed to last 26 minutes vs HDO, but then got crushed by SnG later in the season. Both teams are equally matched, but SnG is the favorites as they are looking very active and organized this season. They have some very good team-chemistry and definitely have the skill. JB on the other-hand, is looking a little rusty and in-active, so they'll need to step things up and be more prepared for games.
