BattleCity League action continues tonight (Thursday 10pm EST) and RedRocket still leads the BCL after jumping into first place 2 weeks ago! Will he be able to hang-on and win the Grand Prize of $25 BCD? The standings are very tight, so be online tonight to take part in the action and find out! Do you think RedRocket can win the BCL? Don't forget, anybody can take part in the BCL! All you have to do is show-up at 10pm EST and be ready to play! Even if your team lasts 27 seconds, you will win a new tank for the week! You will also have your name entered into a draw to win that tank (or anything else you want) permanently from the BC Store!

How can you HELP the BCL be even more fun? SIMPLE! Remind everyone you see when the next game is so more people show up! A simple reminder can go a long way.

We want everyone from the community to get involved! Some people might not know there is even a BCL taking place because they don't check the BC news everyday…! They really should check the site everyday because we like to give away great prizes…

It's safe to say the BattleCity League has come back to life with a vengeance! After a few seasons that were fun, but plagued with short-handed battles or forfeits, Nightwish decided to try something a little different… INSANE CARNAGE BATTLE BCL! Two weeks ago 20 players engaged in a 5 city war and last week 24 players took part in a 6 city battle ! With refs and other players online, 10pm EST Thursday has seen server population jump over 30!

HELP MAKE THESE BATTLES EVEN BIGGER! Tell everyone when the next game is so more and more players show up! Make sure everyone know that all players who show up can take part and EVERYONE who shows up will receive a cool new tank for the next week! There will of course also be the grand end of season prizes that participants can win!!! 

I'd love to see a 10 city war with over 40 players on the server! SPREAD THE WORD! THURSDAY 10pm EST BE ONLINE!!! 

Last week Zhantrim, Bartise, Surge and DoubleB83 were the members of the last team standing! Everyone on their team earned 3 points in the BCL standings (2 orbs + win)! You don't need to be the last team standing to earn points though! The team of Anox, RedRocket, JetLi and 1illest also all earned 3 points because their city got three orbs before being orbed by zhantrim!

RedRocket, who went into the night with 2 points, finished the evening with a total of 5, launching him up the standings to #1 overall ! DoubleB83 and JetLi are right behind him with a total of 4 points each!

Will RedRocket be able to hold onto the #1 spot and win the Grand Prize of $25 to spend at the BC Store?! Find out this Thursday at 10pm EST as the battle continues…!

Jakarta orbed skopje after 11 seconds tieing for the fastest orb in BCL history. 

They then proceeded to take out Kuala Lumpur moments later.

A few minutes later Harbin orbs Armidale.

Harbin and Jakarta now doubleteams poor Tankinator and Jakarta gets the orb after 12 minutes of play.

Harbin orbs Jakarta at the end of first OT with merely seconds to go.

This Thursdays BattleCity League was the most exciting event we've seen on BattleCity for a long time! 28 people were online for the game which is incredible! Everyone who showed up, whether they were picked for a team or not, received a free custom tank for the next week!

Organizing events like this are no easy task so we couldn't be happier to see how many of you took the time to show up and participate. I know logging onto the server and seeing everyone there put a smile on my face! Nightwish is already actively discussing ways to make things run even smoother next week, so we definitely hope to see you all again on Thursday October 11th!

 

This Thursday the battle ended up having 5 teams! That makes for one very huge war! Here is the Orb Log:

The big winners for the night were Knights, Tankinator, Bastard and Prince who picked up 3 points and moved into a tie for first place overall! The championship could still easily go to anyone though since with 6 teams participating, the winning team could possibly get 6 points in a single night if they orb everyone and win!

RedRocket, Testament, New B and Gunman are still close behind with 2 points each! Latinolucio, rise against, HotShot, Jizohn, Merloch, darkluigi, DoubleB83 and Jetli also picked up 1 point this week!
