I – BASICS & ELIGIBILITY
a.1 – All clans must have a minimum of 12 active members on their roster in order to be eligible to participate in the BCL.
a.2 – Any clan which forfeits 2 games will be kicked out of the BCL for the current season and teams with games remaining against the expelled team will be awarded victories.
a.2.1 – Any clan which fails to show a full lineup for 2 games will be kicked out of the BCL for the current season and teams with games remaining against the expelled team will be awarded victories.
a.3 – Teams can request a reschedule if they are positive they will not be able to show a full lineup and NOT because their top player cannot make it.
a.3.1 – To reschedule a game, the league must be notified in the BCL forums 48 hours in advance. Team captains or assistant captains must state the names of the players who are unavailable. They must also suggest 2 alternative times and dates for the game. If this is not done, the game will be played as scheduled.
a.3.2 – After a valid reschedule has been requested, the opposing team will have 48 hours to either accept one of the suggested reschedule dates or suggest a new possible date.
a.3.3 – If both clans have not agreed to a new time/date by the time of the originally scheduled match, the league will reschedule the game.
a.3.4 – A game can be rescheduled a maximum of 2 times, and only once by each team.
II – ROSTERS
Clans must designate 1 Captain and between 1 & 3 Assistant Captains. These individuals will be responsible for keeping the teams roster updated on the BCL Forums.
ANY and ALL changes made to the roster must be indicated on the BCL forums so that all teams are aware of these changes. Unlimited changes can be made up until the trade deadline which will be announced at the start of the season.
b.1 – Players can only represent one team at any given time. If a player wishes to join a new clan, he/she must completely leave their previous clan first.
b.2 – The players name on the roster is the name the player must use during BCL games.
b.3 – Clans can make unlimited changes to their roster before the trade deadline as long as they indicate those changes on the BCL forums.
b.4 – After the start of the season, any players who are added to a teams roster will have to wait a period of 24 hours before they can play in their first game.
b.5 – Even after the start of the season, clans must maintain a roster with a minimum of 12 players. Failing to do so may disqualify your clan from future participation in the BCL.
III – LEAGUE GAMES
Regular season and playoff games will consist of a 4 on 4 battle between two cities. Each team will be allowed unlimited substitutes as long as the subs are valid players whose name appear on the clan lineup.
Each game will have a set time limit of 30 minutes, as well as a designated referee(s) to watch over the proceedings.
15 minute overtime periods will be used if both cities are still alive after 30 minutes of regulation time. The battle will continue uninterrupted when OT begins. Both teams will lose 2 turrets, 1 plasma and 1 sleeper at the start of each OT period, with items being removed from the away team first.
Players will be asked to meet in the Battlecity meeting room at the scheduled time of their game. The home team will then choose the city they wish to build. The away team will then be given 2 minutes to select any neighboring city.
Once cities are selected, the referee will open these cities so that teams can join and hire those taking part. NO BUILDING IS PERMITTED UNTIL THE REFEREE INDICATES THAT THE MATCH HAS BEGUN.
The referee will announce the start of the game once both teams are ready. THERE WILL BE A 5 MINUTE GRACE PERIOD during which players CANNOT leave their base.
c.1 – All matches must be supervised by a BCL referee.
c.1.1 – The referee can call a cease-fire (time-out) at anytime. This may be due to lag or outsider interference requiring a pause to regulate the problem.
c.1.1.1 – Should the match be unplayable for any reason (excessive lag, server down, etc…) the referee can cancel the game.
c.1.1.2 – With regards to lag, the referee will only call a cease-fire or cancel the game if the lag is a server-wide problem, affecting both teams (not an individual player).
c.2 – League games will be 30 minutes long, starting with a 5 minute grace period and finishing with 15 minute overtime periods.
c.2.1 – During the 5 minute grace period at the start of the match, players must remain in their own base. Attacks can only begin after grace period.
c.2.2 – When regulation time expires, the battle continues as OT begins.
c.2.2.1 – At the start of OT, a referee will remove 2 turrets, 1 plasma and 1 sleeper from each team.
c.2.2.2 – At the start of OT, the referee will remove these items from their respective factory. Teams are responsible for making sure the items to be removed are on the factoryat the start of OT otherwise the referee will randomly select the items to be removed from around the city.
c.2.2.3 – There will be NO ties. After 30 minutes of regulation time, OT will begin. Once OT begins, every 15 minutes the same items will be removed from both teams.
c.3 – Matches are won by orbing the enemy. Therefore, games could end immediately after one teams first attack if it is successful.
c.3.1 – If a city is non-orbable, victory is still awarded to the team who drops their orb on the CC.
c.4 – Members of both teams are asked to meet in the Meeting Room after the match in order to give the referee their picks for match MVP. Players are asked to suggest an MVP for each team and to provide arguments backing up their picks in order to persuade the refs decision. The refs will then consult eachother and announce the official MVP selections. (The referree's pick can vary from the players suggestion if they disagree)
IV – Player Behavior and Authority
d.1 – Any player caught “smurfing” will be kicked out of the league and banned from future participation. By “smurfing” we mean playing for two or more different teams. Players can only represent one team at a time.
d.1.1 – If someone in the same household as you is also participating in the league, you MUST notify the BCL ahead of time. You may be accused of smurfing since your IP address will be the same and normally, each IP should only have 1 account in the BCL.
d.2 – Cheating in any way will result in an immediate and permanent ban from the BCL.
d.3 – Violating any of the BCL rules during a match will result in a 10 minute kick for the player in violation. (This includes building before the match officially begins, attacking before allowed, poor sportsmanship, etc..).
d.3.1 – When a player is kicked, a substitute can immediately fill the spot. The team will be forced to play short-handed only during the time it takes to get the substitute into the game. The substitute must of course be a member of the team whose name appears on the teams lineup. If no substitute is available, the team will be forced to play short-handed until their kicked player returns.
d.3.2 – Depending on the severity of the violation, the BCL could also consider suspension after the match.
d.4 – The referee reserves the right to dismiss any player who's language or behaviour is deemed unacceptable. Only one warning will be given. Poor sportsmanship is frowned upon.
d.5 – Any decision made by a referee goes. Should a conflict arise, please post on the BCL forums. The BCL staff will look into the situation and make a final ruling.
d.6 – The BCL reserves the right to make any modifications to the rules it feels necessary. Any BCL ruling is final. The BCL can remove any player or clan from the league for any reason.
