A new update has been released, version 2.2.9. This is the first update in a while meant to take the game forward.
Changes:
In an effort to lower crime rates on the battlefield the administration team has recently taken arms against all battlecity criminals. Recently, a player by the name Smurfie2123 was captured and imprisoned by Zhantrim for blatant abuse of a bug allowing him to jump over buildings, lava and rocks.
Smurfie2123 seemed like an obvious disguise, so an immediate identity check was conducted. Several interviews revealed that Smurfie claimed to be "Krayzie" from BCDX. A player named "Krazie" (without the y!) was later identified as sharing the same IP as both Smurfie and Darkn3ss… Darkn3ss has claimed to be Guardian from BCDX since his return to BC, however there is no known real-life relationship between Guardian and Krayzie. This could therefore raise some eyebrows onto whether or not Darkn3ss is in fact who he claims to be…
Darkn3ss claims that he is not Smurfie, and that Smurfie is simply his cousin (pretending to be Krayzie?) using his wireless network. Whether this be true or not, Darkn3ss remains partially banned while a full background check continues on Smurfie2123. Why partially banned? Because he is only banned on the network shared with Smurfie at this time, and therefore may have access on a different ISP.
The Dark Lord has not attacked Battlecity for some time, however some wonder if this recent crime wave could in fact be linked to his mischief.
Last night bobbob was taken captive by Vindkast and tossed into prison where he will remain until Battlecity authorities can agree on a release date.
According to a press release, admins had been building up a case against Bobbob for suspected abuse of a bug that allowed him to jump over buildings.
Bobbob who is now locked up, was also convicted of several accounts of "Playing 21" earlier in the month. He pleaded guilty and was then released on probation. His recent infraction, while a crime in itself, also violated the terms of his probabtion which means he may be locked away for some time.
Bobbob also spent a night in prison earlier this month when Kukailimoku arrested him for bug abuse, though he was later released after a serious warning.
A new patch has been released! Here are the changes:
The next update will combine the daily bullet, the job posting window, and the meeting room into one window, and it will also contain some other surprises!
ReMoTe has just released a major update which we believe will help promote growth in the community by making life much easier for new players!
Players are no longer kicked out of the game when they die. Instead, they die on spot, and respawn at their Command Center after 10 seconds. In the future, we will add a new image which shows a destroyed tank on the ground where the player died for those 10 seconds.
This change brings some major improvements to the game! In fact, the fix is so fundamental that Battlecity can now be enjoyed in simple 1 vs 1 battles because if a player dies when alone in his/her base, they will not lose the city! They will simply respawn!
This update is so important for new players who have trouble getting involved in the big fun action of Battlecity because they die so much. Now, we will keep them in-game and focussed on playing rather than rejoining. Also, newbies will never have to quit to give back mayor again, which was a ridiculous process!
