Vulcan Spotlight September 2005

Vulcan is the ultimate of newbies! He’s been playing for several months now and has grasped the game well. I believe he is either Colonel or Brigadier, which is quite the achievement for one of the games newer players!

Vulcan comes online for every single Battle City event, even if its way passed his bed time! =p He’s a great part of the community and we definitely hope to see more of him!

Vulcan’s greatest skill is finding admins who just logged on. No matter where the admin is sitting afk on the map, about 50% of the time when they come back, Vulcan is right there chatting with them. lol! 😉

Battlecity League Season Opener October 12th!

On October 12 at 9:30pm EST, the BCL will kick-off its first season with a match featuring HDO vs WFC!!! The full schedule can be found in the league menu on the right hand side of the website.

This season will be kept short and sweet! Consider it the ultimate Battlecity Round Robin Tournament! Each clan will play 4 games, one versus every other clan. The top 4 of the 5 clans will then qualify for the playoffs. If two teams are tied in last spot, the one which lost when they played each other will be eliminated. If they tied, then they will play a final deciding match to determine which qualifies for the playoffs.

The playoffs will then feature 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd in a best of 3 series. The winners of each series will then play for the CHAMPIONSHIP in a final best of 3 series!!!

Good luck everyone! We hope to have at least 2 refs for each game, so that we can also broadcast live commentary during the match for all those spectators interested in knowing how the match is going!

Penguinizi Spotlight August 2005

Penguinizi is a newbie. Seriously. Penguinizi just started playing and he’s already a Brigadier ranked in the top 50… HOLY SMOKES!

Right now, nobody is earning points at a faster rate than penguinizi. Not even Zhantrim who is also climbing up the Top 20 at record speed. Zhantrim is preparing to be the first person to challenge the #1 spot in a long time – as long as he can get there before penguinizi!

Penguinizi is on his way to General and will reach the Top 20 within the next month at his current rate.

Back in the 90’s penguinizi played Battle City under the name Jizohn and was #1 on the top 20 near the end of Battle City’s first life. He was the one who knocked Weebo out of the #1 spot… THAT PUNK! 😉

Definitely the most skilled newbie the game has yet to see. Hopefully we’ll see a lot more of him too! Maybe he’ll even steal the #1 spot on the Top 20 again, either from Chris or zhantrim this time. Or perhaps Chris is just teasing and will fend everyone off from his throne…

Only time will tell.

Giant Maze Used for Giant Duel

Last night I built a big giant maze with walls over in St. Johns. The first one to the CC won 250 pts! Congrats Flash!

Once the CC was found, we decided to use the maze to have a giant duel inside of it. It was really fun! It was decided that the last man standing would win 250pts.

For the first duel, chaos952, Chris and Kris were the last 3! Kris went down first and then chaos952 managed to defeat Chris to hold on for the win!

On the second try, SuRgE, stacker and lejeune were the last 3 standing. After lejeune died SuRgE was able to knock out stacker for the win!

Before the third duel, hundreds of walls which had been destroyed in the previous two battles had to be replaced. There were over 10 players running around and shooting at each other during each battle

Finally, for round 3, Deceth, chaos952 and Nightwish were the final 3 standing. After killing chaos952, Deceth was then able to take care of Nightwish and finish victorious!

Thank you to everyone who took part! That was an awesome duel!
