Discuss Crazy Gauntlet the size of 16 Buildings in the Forums 

 I'm not sure of the names of everyone who took part since the event lasted well over 2 hours and many people came and went throughout it. If you remember anybody who participated who is not on the list, please post in the forums in the Crazy Gauntlet thread.

This gauntlet was huge. It covered 16 Command Centers and had many branches from it's 5 main paths. We had started building it around 5 and didn't get finished till 7:30. It was filled with plasmas, sleepers, and mines. There were a couple of dead-ends and tons of trails, but only one path led to the cc. Half way through Resistencia got lost and was at the total opposite end of where the goal was. Santiago had also went down the wrong path wich wasted some of their time. After about 2 hours, they made there way to the cc area, and I had to summon them because it would of took forever for them to finish if I didn't.

It was crazy, I remember telling Batcho(I think) to rush the CC, but he didn't. He died and Deceth from Santiago rushed the cc and got the orb while I was summoning people. I would like to thank iggy, vindkast, finn, and jizohn for their help building the gauntlet.

Discuss Beta Test on Website Block Feature in the Forums 

The Community Builder component of this BattleCity Classic website is what allows us all to have wonderfull profiles about ourselves which we can share with the community! This component comes with a block feature which has never been tested before. Seeing as how the community is growing, I decided it important to begin a beta test on this feature now, to ensure it works should it ever be needed in the future.

After reading the forums, I saw how Clientel felt left out because he believed he was not receiving special favors. I saw the passion in his posts, as he posted profanities in multiple places outside of the flames forum. I realized he may have a point, so I decided to give him exclusive access to the beta testing of this website feature. Hopefully, by extending him this special favor, he will no longer need to spam the forums with insults and swear words outside of the flames board in the future.

We hope you make the best of this opportunity we have given you Clientel. You worked really hard for it, and we didn't want to let you down by exluding you from this beta test. 

Lag Spikes Plague Battlefield

An update released for BattleCity on February 22nd may be responsible for lag spikes plaguing certain members of the community. Initial reports after the update were very positive, with players noticing a significant drop in their pings. Even those finding themselves plagued by lag spikes have stated that when their ping stabilizes it is very low.

Unfortunately, the good news slowly began to turn bad. Most people did not report the lag problem initially, assuming it was a connection problem on their end. However, now, almost one month later, the number of people reporting the problem continues to grow as more and more each day.

According to reports, players will randomly find their ping spike up into the thousands. They will also often become stuck in a black area where the map did not load. To check your ping, while in-game click option and check the box which says "debug info".

Of course, adding to the confusion of the situation is the fact that this does not affect all players. I am personally affected by this when I play at school, but have no difficuly whatsoever when I play from home. Also, those players not affected, continue to report that lag on their end is at an all-time low.

Turf Wars is Born

We just had a 4 hour event that had the server population over 15 past 4am est.

First we tried a two city gauntlet. Two adjacent CCs were boxed in, and sorta-symmetrical gauntlet was built between them. The turrets in the half closest to each CC belonged to that city. Both teams just started in the center and raced to clear the way to the other's CC, not worrying about defense. Not much fun.

Next we did the same thing, but added a Capture the Orb element by giving each city Sleeper and Mine facs at their own CC (to go along with Laser/Zook/Orb). This made it ridiculously fun, because it was suddenly about capturing territory.

Both teams started in the center and tried to push the other team back, then set up their sleepers/mines in the gap. It went back and forth for hours, with each team pushing a little farther each time since all the original gauntlet-turrets didn't rebuild. Finally one team pushed all the way to the other CC and orbed it.

I don't know who participated, since it lasted hours and people came and went. I'm posting about it because people seemed to like it a lot– when it ended at 4:30am est, they wanted me to do it again Capture the Gauntlet's a stupid name for it– people wanted to call it "Trench Wars" (but that's something else) or "Turf Wars" or something.
