This Thursday's Biggest Battle Ever BCL Grand Finalé (wow long title!) may have to be postponed after BattleCity was shutdown by the current server host yesterday!
What does this mean? A few HUGE things!
- First, we need to raise $40/month to put up our own server! I've added a donation button to the right-hand side of the site, so if you are in a position to contribute, please do so!
- The version of BattleCity that I will be able to put on our community server will be BCv3.1 (woah, the irony for any oldschool vets?). This version is the version of BattleCity that was running in November 2006, one year ago. Hopefully this version is stable…!
- The current database will not be given to us. Everyone will need to re-create their accounts and begin as measly little Privates!
Lets do our best as a community to put aside the flames for a few weeks and make this work! I'll be checking the forums every once in a while today to answer any questions players may have! (I'm sure there will be a few!).
Hopefully we can get a server up and running before 10pm Thursday when the BCL is scheduled to have it's BIGGEST BATTLE EVER! 😉
